Help Kevin Solve the Mystery Before January 30th!
Kevin is a precocious, inquisitive student. He is on holidays with his parents. His friends have already returned to school.
Not one to miss out on anything that’s going on at school, Kevin has kept in touch with his teacher Mr. Crimmins and classmates during his extended vacation. But recently things have taken a … curious turn.
Does Kevin have a new classmate?
Who will Kevin meet when he returns to class on January 30th?
Why are Mr. Crimmins and Jennifer so excited about this new classmate?
Help Kevin by joining the conversation with other educators on Facebook.
And be sure to keep checking the blog to find more clues that will help Kevin solve this mystery!

I think it is something that combines or integrates SMART with Google and Apple….
Perhaps a was to share and collaborate even more easily? I am SO excited!!!
I can”t wait to see the next video. I wonder who Kevin”s new classmate will be!
Through Kevin”s new classmate, learning will have no limits. Inspire collaboration – not only with students in the same physical classroom, but with students across the globe.
Can”t wait to meet Kevin”s new classmate. Knowing SMART his new classmate is going to allow his classmates to be engaged as they collaborate with one another!
SMART engages our students, whoever this new classmate is, that is what they will do.
I”m always excited to see the next innovation from SMART! I”m thinking this new innovation may have to do with increased integration with Apple and something with virtual learning? Not really sure. The video is a bit cryptic, but darling!
My guess is BYOD and interaction with the Boards…
I”m VERY Excited!!
My students love SMART and want all that I teach them about the many collaborative applications. Maybe Kevin”s new classmate is new software to use easily with Apple? My students are guessing also. They are as excited as I am!!!
I would agree that this looks to be collaboration tool coming. How much you want to bet in the last video we find out that Kevin”s new classmate is not even in the classroom but hundreds of miles away.
I am excited to see the next generation of Inspired Collaboration! I also cannot wait to for my students to experience this in my classroom…
On the edge of my seat!! Can”t wait for the next hint . . .
Maybe an app for Android devices? Maybe something involving Google+? Maybe both?
I think that the iPad and Smart are going to be better friends.
I can”t wait to see what comes next.
Maybe it is a robot that will take notes for Kevin when his parents pull him out of school.
SMART is always coming up with new exciting things! I wonder if this will give students the opportunity to work together from different places on the same thing – like google apps… or an different app for ipad – for kids? I can”t wait to see the next hint and to meet this new classmate!
What about intgrated bridgit that allows students in any class to collaborate?
I have a feeling that Kevin”s new classmate will be appearing in a virtual form
I think it may have something to do with increased interactivity with mobile devices and Smart products. I can”t wait to find out. Kevin – please find out some more clues!
Integrate Ipads to remotely control a SMART Board or 3D augmented reality…..
I don”t have a clue as to what Kevin is going to find but I”m very excited to get the next clue!!
Clever. I wonder if it will turn out to be either a class pet or some type of educational avatar.
Obe, for iPads to remotely control a board, it would be an iPad Notebook app with “Bridgit” integrated into it. And that allows Kevin”s new classmate in (insert other country here) and Kevin to collaborate. The classroom no longer has walls or clocks. I like it!
Classmate = avatar or virtual teacher? Hmmm….
I”m curious to learn more about Kevin. Could it be interactive devices,
Multiple board classrooms, or maybe even iPad apps for SMART interactive???
Can”t wait to find out.
Hard to guess…SMART is always so creative. But know that it will be great.
Maybe it”s voice recognition software? Can”t wait to find out!
It seems that SMART is tapping into the creativity, collaboration and communication that Kevin is so interested in.
I have a few Kevins in my classroom at school…. I never know what they are going to do next but it makes my days exciting.
I can”t wait to see how SMART improves on the already amazing technologies!
Increased integration with mobile devices? Ready for the next video.
Sounds like there”s going to be collaboration between Smart and another technology. Maybe Apple (ipad)
I hope it links everything together
Interesting theories here!
Loving the mystery!! Can”t wait…keep the guesses coming.
I want to know NOW!!!! I don”t think I can wait……..
I”m glad I am at BETT event (London) in January 30th. I will be among the first ones to know!
SMART + Students + New Technologies = PriceLess! Go Kevin! This will be better than the SuperBowl Commercials!
Anyone pick up on these things:
Couple of Google references–his email account and a lot of reds, blues, greens, and yellows. There was an obvious Apple reference with the iPad. I also noticed that Kevin had two different color shoes on–one orange and one green.
Excited to say the least!
This reminds me of the ketchup commercial…(gotta sing it to make it work…) “Anticipation, Anticipa-a-tion…It”s making me wait…” Can”t wait! It has to be something to help him collaborate through Google, iPads, Smart…Anticipation!
I can”t wait to see who the classmate is! I have a feeling that whomever it is, both students and teachers are going to be equally excited! I love the way you”ve created a buzz about whomever the new classmate is!
I can”t wait to see who the classmate is! I have a feeling that whomever it is, both students and teachers are going to be equally excited! I love the way you”ve created a buzz about whomever the new classmate is!
Being considered a classmate makes me believe that it is more than software, but something that excites his classmates. It will certainly be something that makes collaboration and interaction easier. A search of SMART Classmate revealed pre-order information of a really sweet piece of technology.
A simple Google search can yield interesting results. This looks like a pretty great product for the elementary grades!
So excited! I can”t wait to see what it is!!!
I believe that Kevin”s new classmate has to deal with collaboration and the iPad.
I think it could be something that will allow others to collaborate from outside of the classroom…..maybe a different device with notebook on it?
I am hoping it will be software to integrate Ipads and the SMART board, that would be amazing!
I am just hoping I can use it with my current SMART products!
I hope it is a connection with the iPad. That is the missing piece in all our SMART classrooms right now.
hoping what ever it is that is not expensive and is worth the hype SMART is trying to create.
@chris Appreciate your honesty and stay tuned. Thanks for all the great suggestions, everyone!
Sam at SMART
Can”t wait to get to the bottom of this with Kevin!! Maybe the new classmate is HAL!
Looking forward to the continued integration of my existing classroom technology with the latest and greatest from mobile devices. Can”t wait to see what is coming to visit Kevin”s classroom.
Maybe some type of interactive tutor…maybe built into an app?
Maybe it is a new SMART product robot! You never know…. SMART is amazing!
Collaboration between Apple and SMART would be awesome. Subtle hints in the video lead one to believe that that is where they are headed, but who knows…
I am stumped. Can”t wait for the next set of clues!
SMART plus apple equals great
Hmm, I wonder what is up? Can”t wait for the 30th.
Can”t wait for something new from SMART! Looking forward to meeting the new “classmate” and learning how it can help students create, collaborate, inquire, and engage in the classroom!
I agree, I think it has to do with cloud-based computing, something with Google and Apple or mobile devices.
Hmmm…I think it is a new piece of hardware for students to use to collaborate. Can”t wait to see what it actually is.
Maybe the iPad App is going to be free??? A girl can dream!
What a great video! I”m definitely curious…and couldn”t help notice that iPad in the video. iPad integration? SMART Tablet? 10 MORE DAYS!!!
I am intrigued!! Cant wait to see the next video.. .
I”m not just wondering “who” Kevin”s new classmate will be, but also “what” Kevin”s new classmate will be…and then will Kevin invite us to come play too!?
This could change teaching???? can”t wait!
I can”t wait to find out more information. I think this new classmate will allow for student/teacher collaboration in the classroom, may be with a blended classroom.
I”m thinking its like Siri but for SMART – SMART-i?
I think Kevin”s classmates found a way to collaborate easily with various types of hardware.
I want to be Kevin”s other new classmate, so his new classmate can be mine as well!
Would love to see some type of integration with Google products!
I”m intrigued! Hopefully this will help students collaborate more easily using the board…or maybe a table?
Perhaps it is a Google collaboration site – connecting kids??
It could be a virtual presence device so distance learners can attend classes from outside the classroom.
I think it is a way for you to work collaboratively with another classroom.
Only one more day til we find out..
Can”t wait to find out tomorrow!
