Since 1922, November 4 has been designated King Tutankhamen Day to celebrate archaeologist Howard Carter’s discovery of the young king’s tomb.

What makes this day so special is not only that Carter found the tomb filled with several thousand valuable objects, including the solid gold coffin, but that it took him three long years to complete the search.

On the SMART Exchange website, you’ll find King Tut resources, including SMART Notebook lessons, SMART Response question sets and images, to help your students learn about and celebrate this amazing day in the world of archaeology and history.

And for other lessons on perseverance, you’ll also find resources about early pioneers, Mahatma Gandhi, Terry Fox and more!
