2012 Saba Customer Excellence Humanitarian Award
Received for SMART’s cyberbullying awareness course, this award recognizes Saba customers who have engaged
in humanitarian services (local, national, or international) in a not-for-profit, charitable capacity using Saba solutions. The SMART Learning Space is a Saba solution.
RSA/Nominet Trust Film Competition
SMART won third place for an animated video inspired by an excerpt from a talk by Rachel Botsman on Collaborative Consumption. You may be familiar with Sir Ken Robinson’s well known education-focused talks given at the RSA, such as Changing Education Paradigms. SMART uses this style of animation in many of its self-paced e-learning modules and You Tube videos – for an example, check out Extraordinary Training and Professional Development.
CODie Award finalists, Best Professional Learning Solution for Education
SMART’s teaching-centered series of eLearning modules, which won a Hermes Creative Award last year, has been named a finalist for the prestigious CODie award, to be announced in May. This award recognizes the best educational application or service, designed to support educational institutions in the development of their faculty and staff. I learned how to use smart response devices to have my students collaborate with one another. They were much more motivated to respond with these devices than they had been without them. SPED students respond to the new technology devices just as well as their general education peers. The Smart learning space and training has made my classroom a modern educational classroom.
