Distance learning using iPad and SMART products – ISTE presentation

iPad is definitely one of the words buzzing around this year’s ISTE conference. It’s a device with huge potential and more and more educators are wondering how to incorporate into lessons.

Joey Savoy is one of these educators, and his experiences using iPad for distance learning something you’ll want to learn about.  He’ll be in booth 3313 today at 2 p.m. presenting, Distance learning using iPad and SMART products.

 

As the technology mentor at School District 16 in Miramichi, New Brunswick, Joey will be sharing a variety of examples of using mobile devices in his school district.

He will be demonstrating how mobile devices such as iPads can be used as a teaching tool and have a significant impact on student learning and teacher pedagogy. He will show how SMART products, like software and apps for iPad, can be also be used with mobile devices to enhance the classroom experience.

About Joey

Joey Savoy is a SMART Certified Master Trainer and has presented on behalf of Miramichi and SMART Technologies at major educational conferences throughout North America. He has also provided training for schools in Europe, Asia, and South America.

Joey recently presented on the impact of SMART Boards in Miramichi at the 2011 Global Education Technology Summit in Toronto, featuring representatives from more than 100 countries from around the world, including foreign trade commissioners, business leaders, ministers of education, and government officials. Miramichi is a SMART Showcase community.
